Julie Meyer

Fifth Grade Teacher

Julie Meyer earned her MA in Education with an emphasis in reading from Pacific Lutheran University. Julie has over a decade of experience teaching second to fifth grade students and is currently pursuing her National Boards Certification. Before joining the GHA Faculty, she taught internationally and in a remote Inuit fishing village in Alaska on the Bering Sea. Prior to teaching, Julie spent eight years in the medical profession, serving as a corpsman in the United States Navy where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. Julie is passionate about helping students develop personal responsibility, independence, and the tools to embrace learning as a process. Julie loves to travel and when she isn’t busy planning her next adventure, she enjoys reading, swimming, and spending time with her family and nephew.
