Born in Limon, Costa Rica, Xinia Agee is passionate about sharing her first language and the beautiful diversity of Hispanic culture with young learners. Xinia brings many years of classroom experience with preschool through elementary students in a variety of settings. She taught in the capital city of San Jose, Costa Rica and was also employed through the Department of Defense at Kaneohe Marine Corps Base in Hawaii. Xinia joined the Gig Harbor Academy faculty in 2008 and loves being able to witness her students grow from preschool through fifth grade and beyond.
GHA Tradition: Gathering with students and faculty at the end of the day every Friday for the school assembly, where students give presentations from their classroom.
Neighborhood Spot: Jerisich Dock
Outdoor Activity: Walking with friends or family in downtown Gig Harbor on a beautiful day.
Place to Read: In my favorite lounge chair at home.
Childhood Memory: Definitely preparing and having dinner with my siblings and parents at a big table, especially during those rainy, tropical, rainy days in Costa Rica.
