The GHA Community

Sponsored by GHA’s Parent Association (PA), we kick-off the school year with the Annual Color Run and celebrate autumnal wonder with the Fall Festival and Luminary Walk on our wetlands trail. Our specialist teachers host musical concerts, an art exhibition, a global Hispanic fiesta, book fairs, field day, and more throughout the year to draw families into the joyful discovery unfolding on campus every day. Families are invited every Friday at 3:15 PM to watch the K-5 Assembly, where grade-levels take turns showcasing a project or learning concept with the school.

Promising an education beyond the classroom, Gig Harbor Academy understands the importance of forming and deepening our sense of community. School and city-wide events help foster the connection we have with one another and include many longstanding traditions.

GHA Takes Part in Community Events

Gig Harbor Academy can also be seen and heard around town. Our teachers seek experiential, field-based learning opportunities, which have taken our students to museums, farms, theaters, small businesses, beaches, and overnight stays with IslandWood, NatureBridge, and the Mt. Rainier Institute. We can also be seen participating at local community events. The Maritime Gig Parade in downtown Gig Harbor would not be the same without the award-winning participation of Gig Harbor Academy! Our Annual General Meeting, held each November, has been hosted at Harbor History Museum and Cutter’s Point. While the Gig Harbor Yacht Club, Canterwood Golf and Country Club, Ocean 5, and The Gig Harbor Vintage Air Museum are among neighborhood organizations to host our Annual Auction.
