Kristen Doyel first joined the GHA community as a 2nd grade teacher, during which we got a preview of her coaching aptitudes leading after-school running clubs. After stepping away from the classroom to begin her family, she became a frequent substitute in PE and a natural fit to eventually assume the teaching role. She earned her BA in Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University and MA in Technology in Education from Western Governors University and began her career teaching 5th grade Writing and Science. Some of her fondest adolescent memories are playing soccer and riding bikes to the beach in Southern California where she grew up. She’s excited about sparking a sense of adventure within students and sharing her passion for maintaining an active lifestyle and the many character-building lessons sports can teach.
